FAQs

The STAT (Special Tertiary Admissions Test) Multiple Choice is a nationally recognised test that provides you with a score (between 100 and 200) which can be used as an alternative entry pathway into many tertiary courses.

Normally, the STAT costs $240 to sit. As a program participant, you’ll have the option to take the test for free during the October 2025 testing window, with UOW covering the cost of the test as well as providing relevant practice materials to help you prepare.

The October testing window runs from Thursday 23 October to Tuesday 28 October 2025, participating students will be able to select a testing day and time that suits them within the window.

The STAT is an accepted pathway into most UOW Liverpool degrees. If you wish to use your STAT result for entry into a UOW or UOW College course, you will need to submit a separate application and meet any additional course entry requirements.

Across the program, you’ll take part in four interactive sessions designed to build your knowledge, skills, and confidence for taking your next step in study. These sessions will cover:

  • Mapping your career path - exploring your goals and the study options that can help you get there

  • Insights from UOW staff and students - hearing real stories and asking questions about uni life

  • Academic skills for success - practical tips on study skills, time management, and preparing for uni-level work

  • Navigating pathways and applications - understanding your options, including the opportunity to sit the free STAT Multiple Choice test if you choose

You’ll also have the chance to join an optional 1:1 consultation to get personalised guidance on your study or career plans.

Students who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion.

No. Participating in this program does not automatically give you an offer to study at UOW.
